The Counter-Terrorism Department, in collaboration with the Sindh Rangers, announced the arrest of an alleged militant associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Thursday.
The arrest was made during a joint raid conducted in the Naval Colony area, as confirmed by the CTD spokesperson. The apprehended suspect had been identified as Mir Ovais. Upon his arrest, authorities discovered a hand grenade, one kilogram of explosive material, a dead coat wire detonator, a Kalashnikov, and a sum of cash in his possession.
According to the spokesperson, the suspect was plotting terrorist activities in Karachi. During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in attacks on an FC check post and the Data Darbar shrine in Lahore. A terrorism case has been registered against the suspect, and further investigations are underway.
