Station House Officer Amin Solangi said three motorcycle-borne suspects tried to snatch the motorcycle from a citizen named Hassan at the doorstep of his house near Owais Shaheed Park in Korangi No. 4. When Hassan resisted, residents of the area started gathering to overpower the robbers, but the suspects opened fire killing Hassan’s two-year-old daughter Horain and injuring a 20-year-old relative, Rafia.

Hassan, his younger brother and other people in the street remained safe as the suspects took away the two-wheeler. The casualties were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Police called in the Crime Scene Unit and collected evidence from the spot. They said they were also trying to get the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity. The police handed over Horain’s body to the family after due process. The child was on the stairs of her house when a bullet hit her, killing her on the spot. She was the youngest of four sisters. Her uncle told the media at Jinnah Hospital that robbers had killed their innocent girl. He said his elder brother had bought a new 125 motorcycle a few days ago, and at the time of the incident, he was returning home from his job. He said that when Hassan entered the street leading to his house, three masked suspects attempted to snatch the motorcycle from him. He said his brother did not resist, yet they opened fire.
