Citizens warned against judges’ character assassination

Islamabad: The federal capital police have evolved a strategy to take rigorous legal action against the people involved in the smear campaign against the judges of the Apex Court by putting erroneous and disingenuous fictitious gens on social media about a decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Akbar Nasir said.

The police have warned the citizens, not to become part of the misguiding campaign, being run on social media, otherwise, they would be dealt with according to the law.“No individual or group would be allowed to breach the law of the land by depicting a confusing version of the misled miscreants,” the top cop said.

“The decision of the Supreme Court is being binged and portrayed to be against the beliefs of Islam to create law and order situation all over the country, he maintained, adding, that law enforcement agencies have taken obligatory measures to resist such elements involved in misguiding people to obtain their motives.

He said that the application of the law on any act of guilt lies according to the prevailing law of the land. Certain elements, listening to rumors, are trying to create unrest in the country by spreading those deceptive rumors in the society, but the law enforcement agencies are ready to pawn the attempt of those creating a fuss among the society, he averred.“Section 144 has been imposed in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), and those found involved in breaching the law, would be dealt with iron hands,” the top cop concluded.
