Petitioner’s lawyer said committee was still formed although ECP had stopped it under the Election Act 2017
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained the caretaker government from restructuring the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), a Geo News report said on Wednesday.
IHC’s Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard an FBR officer’s petition in which the petitioner took the position that the restructuring of the board is not the mandate of the caretaker government and the caretaker government should be prevented from do so.
The petitioner’s lawyer said a committee was still formed although the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had stopped it under the Election Act 2017.
After hearing the arguments of the counsel, the court suspended the notification of setting up the FBR’s restructuring committee.
