After losing four matches in a row to New Zealand, Pakistan finally won the last T20, avoiding a total sweep. The bowlers, especially the spinners, did a fantastic job by keeping the Kiwis under a hundred runs. Iftikhar Ahmed was the star with the ball and got the Player of the Match award. Unfortunately, the batsmen didn’t do well again, confirming what Babar Azam had said earlier: the team is struggling to click in all departments at the same time.
With a single win out of eight matches after changing the management and captain, it’s clear that decisions need a rethink. Winning the upcoming T20 World Cup will be tough, so Pakistan needs to step up their game. Good decisions and solid performance are crucial to avoid future regrets.
