RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed five terrorists, including their commander, in Mir Ali, North Waziristan.
On Friday, security forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in general area Mir Ali, North Waziristan District, on reported presence of terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said.
During the operation, an intense fire exchange took place and five terrorists, including terrorist Commander Rahzaib alias Khuray, were killed. The killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as extortion and target killings of innocent civilians.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operation. Locals of the area appreciated the operation. Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, the ISPR said.
