Despite peaceful demonstrations lasting by the Baloch, the government’s response has been completely absent. The treatment meted out against protesters, especially women, has also been alarming.
The authorities’ mishandling of the situation, including contradictory statements and the forceful removal of protesters, reflects a lack of regard for the community’s rights. The authorities must engage in meaningful discussions.
