This letter refers to the article ‘When sanity is banished from discourse’ (December 15) by Raoof Hasan. Now, if the leader in question was really as anxious to serve the masses as the writer presents him to be, how come he could not find a better person than his Waseem Akram Plus to govern Punjab, which hosts more than half of Pakistan’s population, and, despite complaints even from within the party, failed to replace him?
The no-confidence motion is also a part of the democratic system. It was tabled when he repeatedly failed to address, or to even heed, the grievances of a coalition partner, fully and foolishly believing that his sponsors will fix things. The latter, seemingly having realized their serious error of judgment, rightly opted to stay neutral.
