Snooker legend Stephen Hendry has claimed David Beckham insulted him at the screening of Ronnie O'Sullivan's documentary.
The former Manchester United and England midfielder was among a handful of celebrities who attended the documentary's formal debut in London last month, which comes as no surprise considering his production firm, Studio 99.
Beckham struck up a conversation with seven-time world champion Hendry and ended up aggravating the Scotsman during a Q&A session at the end of the screening. Hendry claims Beckham snubbed him when identifying his snooker "heroes" on the Snooker Club Podcast.
"I was a little bit peeved," a smirking Hendry said. "During the Q&A, which was with Ronnie, Alastair Campbell hosting, David Beckham, and the director."
"David Beckham said, 'Oh it's great, I love watching snooker. All my heroes are in tonight. I can't believe Jimmy White's here, Ronnie's here'. Did he mention me? No!"
"Ronnie O'Sullivan: The Edge Of Everything" is a behind-the-scenes look at the Englishman's pursuit of a record-tying eighth World Snooker Championship.
It also dives into his mental health difficulties and continuing fights with both his amazing skill and his demons.
Hendry expressed his appreciation for the amount of access viewers were given to O'Sullivan's life.
"There aren't many snooker players who would make interesting films. Ronnie's about the only one," Hendry said. "If they made one of me it wouldn't be that exciting. Oh, there's Stephen he's cooking another meal, he's having another game of golf. It wouldn't be very interesting."
