ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is expected to visit the Supreme Court on December 12 when a nine-member bench would take up a presidential reference concerning the murder of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The party’s top legal wizard Senator Farooq H Naek will represent Bilawal.

In this regard, Bilawal chaired a meeting of the party’s central and provincial officials and legal experts at the Zardari House here.

PPP Parliamentarians Secretary General and President People’s Lawyer Forum Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Faisal Karim Kundi, Senator Mian Raza Rabbani and Amna Paracha were present in the meeting.

Officials of Peoples Lawyer Forum briefed the PPP chairman on the legal aspects of the reference.

According to the sources, it was decided that the party would pursue its political strategy outside the court, while the legal strategy would focus on the merits of the case.

Sources said assistance to Senator Farooq H Naek in forming the legal panel, consisting of senior lawyers, also came under discussion.

However, no final decision was taken on it and now Bilawal will make the decision within two days.
