Professor Zafar also announced certificates of appreciation for the doctors, nurses, and medical staff who diligently treated Rizwana over the 18-week duration.

Speaking to Geo News, Rizwana, who has been placed under the custody of the Child Protection Bureau, said that she missed her mother and had informed her about leaving the hospital.

Recalling her experiences of violence, she alleged the judge, her wife as well as their children would often beat her. She said she was repeatedly hit on existing wounds, and never taken to any doctor or hospital.

Rizwana said that she used to do all chores from washing clothes to cleaning the house and working in the kitchen.
