BISP hosts meeting on digital transformation in social safety sector

Islamabad:A meeting between Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) delegation was held at Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) HQs. The visiting team was exploring digital transformation in social safety sector.

BISP Secretary Amer Ali Ahmed welcomed the delegation and gave an introduction on the digital transformation taking place at BISP. He highlighted mode of cash disbursement, and NSER data comprising over 35 million households.

It was also discussed how the distribution system has transcended and transformed from money orders to branchless banking network. Both sides agreed to benefit from each other’s experiences. The object remaining further expansion of digitization for transparent and improved service delivery.
