Elon Musk is unlikely to purchase a copy of Grand Theft Auto VI when it is released in 2025 because he does not support virtual crimes in 2025 even though the internet is ablaze with the release of its first teaser.
The Tesla CEO and X owner stated that he was unable to complete the international mega game GTA 5, which has sold 190 million copies since its release in 2015, because he "didn't like doing crime."
"(I) tried, but didn't like doing crime," Musk wrote in a post on X.
"GTA5 required shooting police officers in the opening scene. Just couldn't do it," he said.
The trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI was released on Monday, a day earlier than scheduled, due to social media leaks.
It is the newest entry in Rockstar's massively successful GTA series, which is notorious for its severe violence and narrative lines based on organised crime.
The highly anticipated game, situated in a fictionalised version of Miami dubbed Vice City, is scheduled for release in 2025.
Musk's apparent aversion to fictionalised violence contrasts with his previous X-rated behaviour, which included the SpaceX CEO advising advertisers who had abandoned X to "go fuck yourselves" in an interview at the New York Times' Dealbook conference.
Musk was responding to a rising exodus of advertisers from the platform as a result of his promotion of an anti-Semitic message as the "actual truth" — something he conceded during the Dealbook interview was the most "foolish" thing he had ever put on the site.
