LAHORE: Legal proceedings to repatriate the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Moonis Elahi have been set in motion. Sources reveal that the caretaker federal government has reached out to Interpol for assistance in bringing Moonis Elahi back.

In this connection, FIA officials have engaged with Interpol, furnishing comprehensive details of all the cases against Moonis Elahi to the Interpol authorities.

The sources further indicate that the process of issuing a red notice for Moonis Elahi’s arrest through Interpol has been initiated and is currently under the jurisdiction of FIA.

It has been reported that Moonis Elahi’s properties and bank accounts have been frozen. Past instances of extraditing wanted criminals to Pakistan serve as precedents, according to sources.
