Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has been a recent victim of deepfake abuse, as the prevalence of deepfake images of well-known people especially women on the internet has increased along with artificial intelligence's availability and popularity.
On X, formerly Twitter, there have been a number of phoney profiles with verification that had deepfake images of Sara lately.
She warned followers on Instagram about phoney profiles on X and expressed her worry about this kind of technological abuse. "Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality," she wrote.
"A few accounts on X (formerly Twitter) have obviously been created with an intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on X, and I hope X looks into such accounts and suspends them," she added while urging X to take action.
"Entertainment should never come at the expense of the truth. Let's encourage communication that’s based on trust and reality," she further added.
In addition, there are rumours that she is in a relationship with India's opener Shubman Gill, which was alluded to in a recent episode of Koffee With Karan season.
Sara Ali Khan, the daughter of Saif Ali Khan, was questioned by host Karan Johar about her reported boyfriends throughout the show. While implying that Shubman was seeing Sachin's daughter, the actress denied ever dating him.
The Bollywood actress remarked, "You have got the wrong Sara guys," in response to questions on reported reports that she was dating Shubman. "(The world is chasing the wrong Sara), Sara ka sara duniya galat Sara ke piche pada hai."
