PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Friday said that certain elements were making serious efforts to impose some selected people once again on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but any such bid would be fully resisted.
“We have also been requested to make an alliance with the people who are actually the enemies of the country. We will not make any alliance with such people,” he said, while addressing a party gathering here.
Former district council members Noor Rahman and Umar Khan announced joining JUIF on the occasion.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that they have learnt the politics of honour and pride and they would never make any compromise on the party’s as well as country’s honour. He said that the future of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rested with JUIF. “We are ready to join hands with the establishment for restoration of peace in the country,” he added.
He criticized the PTI and its chief as usual, saying that not only Imran Khan but the generals who had brought him into power were responsible for the economic mess of the country.
The economic crisis in the country was not accidental, he said, adding the country had been pushed to a quagmire under a well-hatched conspiracy.
He stressed that all those actors and characters who played a role in the economic and political debacle of the country should be exposed. He said that the planners who filled the parliament with unwanted selected people actually mocked the country.
He said that certain elements were still making efforts to worsen the economic situation of the country and for the purpose the military forces and bureaucracy were being blackmailed.
It was a matter of serious concern that Afghanistan and Bangladesh were making progress on economic fronts, while Pakistan was making a downward journey, he added.
He said that under a planned agenda such a government was imposed on the country in 2018 to destroy the economy of the country, he claimed. He said that they were determined to stabilise the economy of the country.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were a stronghold of JUIF. The party was under pressure at the international level for its religious identity, he added. The Maulana also expressed serious concern over the ongoing situation on the Afghan front and the evacuation of “illegal foreigners” in a strange manner. “We have had brotherly ties with Afghanistan for centuries. I don’t know which elements are out to create differences between Pakistan and Afghanistan,” he added.
He said that Pakistan had nothing to do with the internal politics and situation of Afghanistan. Proper planning should be made to promote mutual ties with Afghanistan and overcome the trust deficit, he added. He also spoke in detail about the Palestinian crisis. He said that Quaid-e-Azam had termed Israel as an illegitimate child of the UK. “We should come out and speak categorically in favour of the Palestinian Muslims. The Muslim world today is the least bothered about Palestine,” he remarked. He stressed the need for resolution of the Palestinian issue. He wondered who would step forward for a peaceful resolution of the issue. The UN and the Security Council were silent over the situation in Kashmir and Palestine, he said. He also continued to criticize the merger of tribal areas. The tribal people were weakened further with the merger. They were not given the pledged funds after the mergers. Not a single billion rupees could be released to the tribal districts during the last eight years, the Maulana said.
