Woman killed, eight injured as bus hits motorcyle

A woman was killed and eight others, including children, were wounded in a road accident on Sharea Faisal on Friday. Police said that the accident took place near the Colony Gate bus stop, where a speeding bus went out of the control of the driver and hit a family travelling on a motorcycle and other people.

As a result, a woman was killed while her husband, two children and five other people were injured. Following the accident, police and rescue services reached the spot and shifted the casualties to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where the deceased was identified as 30-year-old Masooma, her injured husband and two children as 35-year-old Athar Abbas, three-year-old Malik Athar and one-year-old Abbas respectively.

The other injured persons were 35-year-old Perveen, her five-year-old son Shayan, 40-year-old Shaheen while the identities of two other persons were not confirmed immediately. According to police, a tyre of the bus burst because of which the vehicle went out of control.
