ISALAMABAD: After the approval of the federal cabinet, the Establishment Division on Wednesday officially appointed Pakistan Administrative Service Grade 20 officer Captain (R) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal as the Director General (DG) of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA).

A notification has been issued for the transfer of FGEHA DG Tariq Rasheed, a Grade 21 officer.

The notification dated September 7 issued by the Establishment Division regarding the transfer of Tariq Rasheed has been cancelled. A separate notification for reporting to the Establishment Division has also been issued to Tariq Rasheed. It should be remembered that the appointment of Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal and removal of Tariq Rasheed was approved by the federal cabinet on its last day. According to sources, the FGEHA Executive Board, in its recent meeting, approved the resolution to remove Tariq Rasheed from the post of DG, which is a legal requirement.

On the other hand, Tariq Rasheed had obtained an order against his transfer from the Islamabad High Court, in which he contended that he was removed from the Executive Board without a resolution. Now this objection has been removed by the government.
