After approval of red warrants, ministry directed the FIA to get in touch with Interpol
ISLAMABAD: The interior ministry Wednesday approved red warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zulfi Bukhari in connection with the Judicial Complex attack case, which was registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
After the approval of red warrants, the ministry directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to get in touch with Interpol.
FIA Director General (DG) Mohsin Hassan Butt, when contacted by this correspondent, confirmed the report, saying that Zulfi Bukhari was involved in different cases and wanted to the police, and the FIA had initiated red notice for the accused. The FIA would soon complete the legal modus operandi to get the accused back in Pakistan through Interpol, the DG FIA concluded.
The FIA subsequently requested Interpol to issue red warrants for Zulfi Bukhari, who has been declared an absconder at the Golra police station case.
Sources said the proceedings for the red warrant against the PTI leader indicated resolute pursuit of justice in the matter. The interior ministry could not be contacted in this regard.
