LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has closed the investigation against the President of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Aleem Khan under the new law against the alleged occupation and encroachment of lands by his housing society.
It is pertinent to mention here that the NAB has not closed the inquiry against Aleem Khan in assets beyond the means case. Aleem was arrested in the assets beyond means inquiry in 2019 when he was a provincial minister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
It has been learnt that the Bureau’s executive board has stated that an order has been issued under the National Accountability (Amendment) Act, 2022 Section 31-B (1) to close the investigation against Aleem Khan. In the investigations, the NAB had alleged that agricultural land could not become an urban settlement, hence the project was not approved.
