It has truly been a while since we got to experience a full-fledged fashion show. The thrill of watching new collections by top designers, the grace with which the model walks down the ramp to show off the design, the murmurs between the audiences discussing what’s on display – it truly is an unparalleled event.

Recently, an extension of its 4th International Textile and Leather exhibition, TEXPO, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) hosted a fashion show at the Expo Centre in Karachi. An exclusive showcase for the media and foreign buyers, the event featured a treasure trove of designs by top-notch designers, putting the spotlight on ready-to-wear, resort wear, and luxury pret items. All collections showcased at the event were exclusively curated with a focus on sustainable fashion, keeping in line with this year’s theme, ‘Weaving the Way to Sustainability’. Let’s take a look…
Huma Adnan presented ‘Tolerance’ - a collection of beauty from cross-cultural expression. Standing firm on her belief in cause-based fashion, Adnan’s designs were representative of cultures adopted in a sustainable way.
Adnan Pardesy, lit up the runway with‘Roshnai’. A modern take on a classic fabric, the collection pushed the boundaries of what denim can be.
Sana Safinaz presented ‘Raya’, a curation of unique designs redefining monochrome couture with silhouettes that fuse timeless forms, draped in layers of mystical embroidered textures and glimmer.
Salt by Ideas unveiled ‘Sleek-Spectra’, inspired by the allure of structural and boxy silhouettes and the expressive power of neon colours.
M Jaferjees showcased a variety of leather collection. The designer displayed purses, trolleys, laptop bags, and clutches in greens, pinks, yellows and other bright colours.
The show was opened by Rizwan Beyg. The mastermind behind elaborate embroidery, launched the exhibition with a collection that may appear simpler in comparison to his past works. White silouhettes and minimalism was the main theme.
House of Deepak Perwani closed the show with the collection ‘Starry starry night’, a minimal diffusion collection with silhouettes blending eastern and western fashion with subtle embellishment on lux fabrics.
Aamna Aqeel went with a monochromatic tone and added glitz to it. The collection was alluringly sophisticated, with sparkly tunics and complementary bottoms.
Wardha Saleem experimented with psychedelic patterns, neon colours, and flowery embroideries. Ruffles, peplums, jackets, pearls, slits, capes, and so much more to take inspiration from.
