PM Shehbaz urges Turkish businessmen to invest in Pakistan

ANKARA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday urged the Turkish investors and businessmen to increase investment in Pakistan’s diverse sectors.

Currently, the premier is in Ankara on a two-day official visit to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The prime minister made the remarks while talking to a delegation of Anadolu Group comprising of Coca Cola CCI CEO Karim Yahi, the company’s Chief Strategy Office Atilla Yerlikaya and Head of public policy Taylan Coban which called on him.

The prime minister encouraged the Anadolu group for bringing investment in Pakistan and providing job opportunities to the people.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatimi and Pakistan Ambassador in Turkiye Dr Yousuf Junaid were present in the meeting.

Earlier, upon his arrival at the Ankara airport last night, the prime minister was received by senior officers of the Turkish foreign ministry and Pakistan's ambassador in Turkey.

The prime minister is visiting Turkey on the invitation of Turkish President Erdogan who stood victorious in the second round of elections held on May 28.

In a tweet, PM Shehbaz said he will convey the warmest greetings to Erdogan on behalf of the government and the people of Pakistan on his re-election.

He said the fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkey are set to deepen further in line with shared resolve and common destiny.
