MULTAN: Senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Makhdoom Shahabuddin has resigned from his post as President, PPP South Punjab, due to his health condition. The PPP leader has sent his resignation to PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
According to sources, Makhdoom Shahabuddin had recently had an operation due to which he had decided to resign from his party office. He will, however, continue to serve the party as Executive Committee member, sources claimed.
He was health minister during the last PPP government at the centre and is facing a case of corruption in Ephedrine licences.
