PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission Amendment Ordinance Review Committee Monday suggested comprehensive amendments in the existing law in order to make it more simple, workable and effective.
According to the PTI announcement, the committee constituted by the party chief met here to discuss the law comprehensively particularly in light of the experience over the last couple of years.
In the light of the discussion in the committee it was decided to withdraw the amendments and a detailed amendment bill would be introduced in the KP Assembly to make it more effective, comprehensive and to strengthen the process of accountability. The party chief has directed the committee to expedite the process of drafting the amendment bill to be presented before the KP Assembly.
It was further decided that the search & scrutiny committee meanwhile will initiate the process for selection of the new director general of the KP Ehtesab Commission. Earlier, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said he has directed KP cabinet to withdraw the amendments.
