This refers to the news report, ‘NA panel seeks details of Rs2 trillion allegedly deposited in Swiss banks’ (February 25). Is it just Rs2 trillion? Let us count again. Is $200 billion equivalent to Rs2 trillion? According to former NAB chairman Admiral (r) Faseh Bukhari, Pakistan was being plundered at the rate of Rs10 billion per day. How many trillions does that make in a year? Customers who cannot count are invariably short-changed by shopkeepers. Likewise, people who cannot count are freely plundered by their rulers. Swiss banks are the ultimate destination of all the money looted from the billions of dollars of loans obtained from donor agencies.
Now that we have plenty of science graduates from ‘foreign universities’ affiliated with places that award fake degrees (like Axact) – some of them sitting in parliament – counting the plundered/looted money should not be a problem. However, if this task is given to our nominated ‘technocrats’ – madressah-educated graduates and others – in the Senate, they will mix ‘arabs’ and ‘kharabs’ with trillions. The confusion would then certainly be confounded. Is it not time we learnt to count the plundered money?
