PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday announced that the party's long march will resume on Tuesday, November 8, from Wazirabad, while he will join the convoy from Rawalpindi.

The PTI chief has been discharged from the hospital and has now returned to his Zaman Park residence in Lahore.

The protests across Pakistan, staged by PTI supporters, ended on Saturday night after the workers staged sit-ins for hours as Khan recovered from the injuries.

11:13 — Can't trust govt's investigation: Qureshi

PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi, while addressing a protest rally in Faisalabad, said that while PM Shehbaz Sharif is forming a committee to probe the attack on Imran Khan, the investigating officers will be the government's own people.

"How can you trust such an investigation?"

He also said that the "plan of the oppressors to kill Imran Khan has failed."

Qureshi added that even 72 hours after the attack, a first information report (FIR) has not been registered.


9:41 — PTI to lead protest tomorrow in Lahore outside Governor House

The PTI announced that it will lead a protest tomorrow in Lahore outside the Governor House at 7pm.

The party wrote on Twitter that the central leadership will also address the protest.

3:45pm — PTI to resume march to Islamabad from Wazirabad on Tuesday

PTI chief Imran Khan said that his party will be resuming its march to Islamabad on Tuesday and he will join the protestors from Rawalpindi.

“We will start the march from Tuesday. I will address every day,” said Khan from the hospital. He added that he will lead the march from Rawalpindi when it arrives in 10-15 days.


3:31pm — What will judicial commission do when people I named are ones who will head probe: Imran Khan

Addressing a press conference from the hospital, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that "slave nations cannot rise".

"My first point is what will the judicial commission do when the three people I named are the ones who will head the investigation," said Khan. He added that he sought the interior minister, prime minister and a military official's resignation as he wants "transparent investigations because there is an entire pattern".

"First, video surfaces that I’m committing blasphemy, it should be probed in the investigations. The video is then highlighted by a journalist affiliated with a political party. After this, a press conference is held by Maryam Safdar, Marriyum Aurangzeb and Javed Latif and they say that I committed blasphemy," said the PTI chief.

The PTI chief said that he was seeking an FIR against the three people he named as he was aware that they wanted to murder him just like Salman Taseer.

The former prime minister questioned how did it happen that the gunman's interview was leaked despite PTI having a government in Punjab.

"We ask the police and they say they were under pressure, when we ask the IG, he says it was hacked," said Khan. He also demanded that a judicial commission be formed to probe Arshad Sharif’s murder.


2:45pm — Can hold 2-hour long presser but can't register FIR, Marriyum slams Imran

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the "foreign-funded fitna can hold a two-hour long press talk but cannot register an FIR against the murderous attack against him".

Taking a jibe at the PTI chief, Marriyum alleged that Imran Khan is pressuring the Punjab administration to register a fake FIR.

"Foreign-funded fitna is adamant to register a fake FIR as per his wishes," she alleged.


2:30pm — Imran Khan to speak to media at 3:10pm

Punjab Govt Spokesperson Musarrat Cheema shared that former prime minister Imran Khan will address a press conference after 3pm.

Cheema said that the PRI chief will share his future course of action during the press conference.


12:30pm — IG Punjab decides to resign over issues with Punjab govt: sources

Inspector General Punjab Police Faisal Shahkar has decided to resign, saying that the matters were going somewhere else regarding the registration of the FIR of the attack on Imran Khan, sources told Geo News.

The sources revealed that the IG has written to the federal government about the non-continuation of services.

They further said that there were tensions between the Punjab government and the IG over the transfer, posting and other issues.

"I can't work anymore," said Shahkar.

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that former vice chairman for District Hafizabad, Rai Qamar has been arrested and booked in a case for making "serious threats" against PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
