Lahore Corps beat Australian Army

LAHORE: Lahore Corps defeated Australian Army by four wickets in an exciting T20 match at the Battle Axe Stadium Cantt on Wednesday.

Batting first, Australian Army posted 130 for the loss of five wickets. Mark Brown was the top scorer with 39. Craig Holmes entertained the crowd with his brief innings of 28, studded with three towering sixes and a four. Beau Wright scored 23. Awais Zafar, Imran Ali and Nauman Naveed took one wicket each.

Lahore Corps reached the target in the 19th over. Sabir Hussain (29), Mohammed Afzal (28) and Anwar Khan (18) were the leading contributors.

Robert Maram was the most successful bowler for Australian Army, who finished with 2 for 19. Thomas Gilmore and Nicolas Brown took one wicket each for 12 and 17 runs, respectively.

Former Test cricketers Majid Khan, Salim Altaf, Intikhab Alam and Abdul Qadir watched the match at the special invitation.
