KARACHI: Former Karachi Mayor Mustafa Kamal on Monday called Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad the worst character of politics in Karachi, demanding the government to put his name on the Exit Control List.
Speaking to media, he said the governor offered to become patron-in-chief of his Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) and upon refusal got Anees Qaim Khani arrested.
The leader of newly found PSP said the governor congratulated Altaf Hussain after London police dropped money laundering investigation against the MQM founder.
Kamal alleged that money from ‘china-cutting and RAW’ was sent to the MQM founder through Ishratul Ebad.
He said Ebad is known as “Rishwat ul Ebad”. He said that the governor was only interested in saving his governorship, without caring for what happens in the city.
Kamal said that Anees Qaimkhani and Raza Haroon approached the governor to quit Muttahida Qaumi Movement and join his party but he said his position as governor was too dear to him. “Our romance continued for about one and a half month but to no avail".
Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad has rejected all the allegations leveled by Mustafa Kamal and said that governor is appointed and removed by prime minister and he can’t stay on the position on his desire.
He asked former Karachi mayor to produce the evidence to corroborate his allegation. The governor said after facing failure in politics, Mustaf Kamal has become desperate.
