KARACHI: Defending Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) stalwart, Syed Khursheed Shah on Friday said seeking the CM's resignation over terrorist acts was not appropriate.

Speaking at a Sindhi Folk Conference in a private hotel, he said that the killers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Dr Khalid Soomro were arrested within 10 days after his murder.

Shah said the government was devising a strategy to rid the country of terrorism, adding that the militancy would soon be rooted out.

He advised JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to persuade Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over his reservations regarding the 21st Constitutional Amendment as the JUI-F was also a part of PML-N-led coalition government.

The PPP leader said injured of the Shikarpur carnage were shifted to Karachi as the hospitals in rural Sindh lack advance facilities.
