PESHAWAR: Former parliamentary leader of Awami National Party (ANP) in Upper House of parliament and prominent businessman of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ilyas Ahjmad Bilour, has said Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project would prove as last nail in the coffin of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the upcoming general election.
In a press statement issued here on Tuesday, Ilyas Bilour said the project had proved to be a curse for the dwellers of provincial metropolis.
Due to lack of planning and changes in design of the project, he said, the people of Peshawar, especially business community, have faced sever botheration and mental torture.
“Severe traffic jams due to hindrances on road has damaged devastatingly the business activity in the city,” Bilour observed.
The piles of dust and smoke due to construction work and traffic congestion has made dwellers of Peshawar and Traffic wardens as patients of TB and asthma, Bilour alleged.
The slow pace of construction work has badly damaged traffic movement in the city, badly affecting daily life activities.
He requested the Chief Justice of Supreme Court and Peshawar High Court to take suo moto notice of inconvenience faced by people due to this project, which has even snatched basic rights of movement from the citizens of Peshawar.
