KARACHI: As elsewhere, the 132nd birth anniversary of poet-philosopher Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal will be celebrated here on Monday.
Various organisations have organised functions to mark the day.
The Sahar Foundation has initiated the "Farogh-i-Fikr-i-Iqbal" campaign.
Speech and the painting contests have been organised for the students on the occasion.
Meanwhile, in his message on Iqbal Day, Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, said that Allama Iqbal was a great poet and philosopher of not only the sub-continent but also the Muslim Ummah.
He said the poetic work as well as the teaching of Iqbal serves as a beacon.
Qaim Ali Shah said that Pakistan was the vision of Allama Iqbal, which our great leader Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah translated into reality.
