Zero point at Pak-Iran border closed |

QUETTA: Thousands of local laborers have been rendered jobless as the zero point, existed at the border of Pakistan and Iran lying in Taftan area of Balochistan province, has been closed down, Geo news reported on Wednesday.
According to sources, Iranian officials have shut down for an indefinite period the zero point at Pak-Iran border as a result of suicide attack occurred in Iranian city Sistan on October 18, however, the passport point will remain opened as usual.
As many as 25,000 people have been left unemployed due to closure of zero point for at least last 17 days, hitting the main businesses in Taftan adversely besides, increase in Iranian petroleum product prices by 20 to 25 rupees per liter, sources said. |
