SC may be defiant of NRO if it contradicts constitution: Aitzaz |

LAHORE: The former president Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan has said Sunday judiciary might rule against NRO even after its ratification from parliament under July 31st judgment, Geo news reported.
This he sated before media here at Allama Iqbal airport on his return from United States. He said NRO was never beyond implications of constitution and SC might turn against it following its approval from parliament in case it contradicted the constitution of Pakistan, sources said.
Deceased Benazir Bhutto voiced concerns over NRO before being assassinated, wanting some amendments in it, he revealed.
“PPP’s ideology wants repealing of 17th amendment from constitution in order to strengthen democracy in Pakistan”, he informed.
Activists of PPP accorded him warm welcome on the occasion, sources added. |
