SWA migrants being registered at D.I.Khan

  D.I. KHAN: Arrival of displaced persons from South Waziristan to Dera Ismail Khan continues due to ongoing military operation, where they are being registered.

A large number of people from South Waziristan are moving towards Tank and D.I. Khan to stay with their relatives.

The city administration has declared emergency in the city where security has been tightened, and extra measures have been taken to ensure peace.

Cantonment area has been completely sealed and irrelevant persons are prohibited from entering. All the civilian offices and schools are to remain closed till October 22.

District head quarters hospital, D.I.Khan has also been prepared to face any urgent cases as wards are specially spared with extra supplies of medicines to tackle an emergency situation.

On other the hand, extraordinary security measures have been taken on all the routes to and from Punjab due to a possible search operation in Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar and Mianwali – areas of Southern Punjab adjacent to Dera Ismail Khan.

Suspected vehicles and individuals are being searched, and all mobile networks have been discontinued in order to trace extremists in the area.
