NWFP: Tal Block operator hits new hydrocarbon reserves |

KARACHI: The operator of Tal Block has hit hydrocarbon deposits in the exploratory well Marmzai-1.
According to information sent to KSE here Tuesday, Pakistan Oilfields Ltd (POL) said that in the lockhart formation, upper 75meters of the drilled section has produced 12 mmcfd gas and 430barrels per day condensate during barefoot DST @ 32/64" fixed choke size at 2483 PSI wellhead pressure.
The discovery is made in the uppermost reservoir section of the well and drilling is continued to penetrate and test the lower potentially prospective zones.
The full extent of discovery from the well will be known once the well reaches the planned total depth during two and a half months.
MOL Pakistan is the operator in the Tal Block with the other four Pakistani companies including OGDCL, PPL, POL and GHPL. MOL has a joint venture share of 10 percent while OGDCL, PPL, POL and GHPL have30 %, 30 %, 25 % and 5 % stake. |
