We don’t know Osama alive or dead: US Foreign office
Updated at: 0300 PST, Tuesday, April 28, 2009
WASHINGTON: US State Department spokesman said that there are no reports that Osama bin Laden is alive or dead but the United States is making all efforts to trace him.

Robert Wood, spokesman of the US Foreign office said while replying to journalists’ questions regarding the statement of President Asif Ali Zardari.

President Asif Ali Zardari said Monday that Pakistani intelligence believes Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is dead but acknowledged they had no evidence.

Robert Wood indicated the United States was still searching for bin Laden on the assumption he was alive.

"I have no information that indicates that Osama bin Laden is ... frankly dead or alive," Wood told reporters when asked about Zardari's remarks.

"We don't know. We will continue to hunt Osama bin Laden until we can capture him or bring justice to him."
