KARACHI: Managing Director Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), Adnan Khan Afridi has said that the lower cap on the benchmark KSE-100 Index should be kept intact till the equities market support funds are released.
Speaking at a press conference after a meeting with the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance, Shaukat Tareen here on Sunday Adnan Khan Afridi said the prices floor will continue to be placed at KSE till there is stability in the share market.
Appreciating the government efforts aimed at pulling the market out of the prevailing crisis, he said KSE has no demands whatsoever and full cooperation is being extended to the government in the ongoing talks.
He brushed aside the impression that KSE is demanding the floor to be kept intact.
MD KSE said government has granted approval to the market support funds and now only the modalities for their acquisition remain to be worked out. Therefore, the prices floor will be kept in place till these funds are released, he added. |
