Security man killed, 2 wounded in Lal Masjid students firing |

ISLAMABAD: A Rangers man was killed and two wounded in firing by the students of Lal Masjid in Islamabad. Dozens girls of Jamia Hafsa were wounded in shelling by the security forces.
Emergency has been declared at all hospitals in the federal capital.
After the Lal Masjid incident police red alert has been declared in Sindh including Karachi.
Federal Minister of Interior Aftab Sherpao has demanded the Lal Masjid administration to hand over persons to authorities, involved in the firing over the law enforcement agencies.
Dozens girls of Jamia Hafsa were fainted during in shelling by the security forces. The girls were shifted to Polyclinic for medical aid.
The incident caused tension in the locality in Islamabad resulting in closure of shopping centres and shops. The incident also caused traffic jam in the area.
Bureau chief of The News Islamabad Absar Alam was also wounded when hit by a teargas shell.
A girl and several security men were also wounded in the firing incident, which were transferred to hospital.
Emergency has been declared and alert announced at all hospitals in the federal capital.
An official of Rangers talking to the media has said that the students of Lal Masjid initiated the incident by starting firing.
Federal Minister of Interior Aftab Sherpao has demanded the mosque administration to hand over persons involved in the firing over the law enforcement agencies to authorities.
Lal Masjid Naib Khateeb, Maulana Abdul Rashid Ghazi talking to Geo News has said that the law enforcement agencies men started the firing. |
