Over 250 villages under floodwater in Qubo Saeed Khan

  QUBO SAEED KHAN: Over 250 villages in Qubo Saeed Khan town of Sindh bordering Balochistan have come under floodwater when a wave of flash floods entered Sindh from Balochistan after torrential rains and flash floods.

The floodwaters have demolished hundreds houses and mud huts in the area.
Pakistan military has speed up relief and rescue operations in the area as hundreds soldiers of the Sindh Regiment have reached Qubo Saeed Khan with motorboats and other equipment.

The troops have started transferring stranded persons to safer places. According to reports the troops have transferred 800 people to safety who were stranded in floodwaters for last three days near Kachhi Bridge and F.P.Bund.

The flood stream has developed breeches at seven spots in F.P. Bund and the water gushing from these breeches has inundated over 250 villages in three union councils of Quho Saeed Khan. The floodwaters have demolished hundreds houses and mud huts in the area.

The floodwater was also entered in city areas at various places with four to five feet deep water surrounding the town. Hundreds of acres standing crops were also damaged by the flood.

Thousands affected people from Balochistan border areas and flood-stricken people in Sindh are migrating to Shahdadkot, Qambar and Larkana towns.

Many of the flood victims were suffering from gastroenteritis, diarrhea and malaria and being provided medical aid at the camps established by the army, rangers and the civil administration.

The armed forces have rescued more than 78 people including women and children from the affected villages of Qubo Saeed Khan so far.
