Hoti vows to eliminate terrorism

PESHAWAR: NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haidar Hoti on Monday reiterated the provincial government’s resolve to root out militancy from the province with people’s support.

He expressed these views during his visit to the Combined Military Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) where he inquired after the health of the injured soldiers and officers of the army and victims of the bomb blasts. The chief minister said the matchless sacrifices rendered by the security forces for the survival of the country would soon bear fruit. He said the whole nation was standing behind the army in the war on terror. He prayed for an early recovery of the wounded soldiers and officers.

During his visit to the LRH, the chief minister lauded the services of the hospital staff in providing timely emergency cover to the victims of the blasts. He inquired after the health of the victims of various blasts in the city and expressed satisfaction over the treatment being provided to the wounded.

The chief minister directed the hospital staff to provide extra care to the wounded and treat them free of any cost.Earlier, on the Eid day the chief minister visited the sites of the Khyber Bazaar bomb blast, Meena Bazaar and Judicial Complex and laid floral wreaths at the spots to pay homage to the victims of the blasts. He also visited the spot near Karnal Sher Shaheed Stadium and Farooq-i-Azam Chowk in Charsadda to express solidarity and pray for the victims of the car bombings.

Talking to reporters on the occasion, the chief minister said his government observed Eidul Azha with simplicity to show solidarity with the bereaved families. He approved Rs5 million for reconstruction of the mosque that was destroyed in the Meena Bazaar bombing. He lauded the steadfastness and courage of the residents of Peshawar who had suffered because of the worst terrorism in the recent months.
