ISLAMABAD: There exists no differences whatsoever among the Presidency, the military and political leadership, Senator Mian Raza Rabbani said here on Monday.

“It is the policy of our government that there should be no conflict among the national institutions,” said Senator Mian Rabbani while responding to questions of The News. “We do not intend to challenge the status and dignity of any national institution; rather we want to see all the national institutions getting strengthened,” he added.

The PPP senator said a precise timeframe about finalisation of the constitutional committee’s recommendations could not be given. He said the committee was, however, working on all working days and would soon finalise its recommendations.

“The nation will soon hear positive news about the constitutional amendments. We will soon decide through consensus on the constitutional amendments,” he said. When asked whether the constitutional committee was discussing the constitutional amendments with the parties that have no representation in parliament, Senator Rabbani said the mandate of the committee was limited to political parties having representation in parliament.

He said the committee had representation of all political parties, except the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf of Imran Khan. “The committee includes representatives of all political parties having representation in parliament. It also has Fata (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) representation,” he pointed out.
