| PESHAWAR: Supreme leader of Iran Sayyed Ali Husseini Khamenei said Friday that the presence of the United Sates in Afghanistan was the main reason behind the problems in the region. A press release by the Cultural Centre of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Peshawar said the Iranian leader made the observations in special message issued on the occasion of Haj and Eidul Azha. Pointing to the wave of terror in the region, the Iranian leader asked the Muslims worldwide to think how and where these blind wars, blasts, assassination bids and massacres which had gripped Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan were designed. “Why was it that before the American-led Western troops arrived in this region, the regional nations had never been subjected to such a long list of sufferings?” he questioned. “Nowadays we clearly saw that the hands of the ill-wishers of the world of Islam were busy more than the past driving wedges among Muslims.” Khamenei said the Ummah was in need of integrity and unanimity more than ever before. Deploring the sufferings of the Muslims at the hands of the hostile forces, the Iranian leader said today, the bloodstained claws of enemies were busy unleashing tragic scenes across the Islamic lands, Palestine Afghanistan, Iraq and Yemen. He said instability had robbed people of their peace of mind. Khamenei said conspiracy of the ill wishers would be defeated and their sinister plots foiled if affection, trust and empathy took the place of the enemy-desired mistrust and animosity. |
