CAA Clarification

KARACHI: This is with reference to stories published in various newspapers on November 20, 21 and 22 naming certain Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officers as being the beneficiaries of the NRO. The name of Khurshid Anwar, ex-civil engineer and a retired CAA employee, was mentioned in the list. The name gives the false impression that it was our Chief Financial Officer/Secretary CAA Board, Khurshid Anwar, who was on the list. We would like to clarify that the current CFO/Secretary CAA Board is not the same person and is not in any way a beneficiary of the NRO. The CAA would also like to clarify that the nine officers named in the list – Raees Irshad, Ghulam Qadir Lakhan, Shafiq Siddiqui, Ahmed Hussain Qazi, Iqbal Bangash, Khurshid Anwar, AD Abbasi, Kh Farooq Ahmad and Rafiq Shad —- have all retired from the CAA between 1997 and 2007.
