| Islamabad Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS), a research centre working on the themes of peace and security, has published the Urdu translation of the report, released by the International Media Support (IMS) “Media in Pakistan: Between Radicalisation and Democratisation in an Unfolding Conflict”, says a press release. The report notes that unlike previously unsuccessful transitions to democracy, this transition is characterized by the presence of a newly liberalized mass media. By highlighting these challenges, this report seeks to focus on how the Pakistani media is effected by, and functions under, the conflict currently unfolding. Furthermore, the report outlines a series of recommendations that can support Pakistani media in facing future challenges. The report is a part of PIPS’s awareness campaign against extremism and radicalisation. |
