| Four people killed in separate incidents |

| LAHORE A 26-year-old youth was found dead near the outer wall of the Government College University on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Bilal of Paki Thatti, Samanabad. Police suspected that Bilal might have committed suicide as sleeping pills were also found from his possession. Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man, identified as Tariq, died mysteriously in his house at Rehmat Street, Sandah. The deceased’s brother suspected that some poisonous substance might have claimed the life of his brother. The body was shifted to morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, the headless body of a 35-year-old unidentified man was found in the Mustafabad police area on Saturday. Some locals spotted the body lying near Choar Puli, Mian Mir Colony and informed police. The victim was brutally murdered, police said. A case was registered and body shifted to city morgue. Meanwhile, a cyclist was run over and killed by a speeding van in the Kahna area on Saturday. Police said victim Awais was on his way on his bicycle when a recklessly driven van hit him, resulting in his instant death. Meanwhile, two people sustained injuries when their car overturned on Defence Road. In another incident, three people were injured due to collision between two trucks near Bohbattian Chowk. Police told to watch cattle sellers: Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Pervez Rathore has directed the Lahore police to keep a vigilant eye on the cattle sellers in the makeshift cattle markets of the city in order to ward off any unfortunate incident. He was talking to citizens on the occasion of his open court held at the Capital City Police Headquarters on Saturday. He also ordered immediate removal of all beggars from various traffic signals and city squares. He informed the citizens that he had ordered the police to make foolproof arrangements for checking of passengers at bus stands and railway stations, besides ensuring comprehensive screening of their luggage. He appealed to the general public not to mind the checking which was for their protection. He said cooperation of the citizens was essential to eradicate all heinous crimes. During the open court, the CCPO directed the officers concerned to take every prompt possible step to ensure redress of genuine complaints of citizens. |
