President, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh, Imran Ismail, alleged that they were being stopped from carrying out political activity in Liaquatabad area and some miscreants attacked their truck where they were erecting camps of the party with regard to the membership drive.

Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Friday, he said that a letter requesting permission for erecting camps in the area was also written to the Station House Officer (SHO) but he refused to give permission due to security reasons. He was not in a position to provide protection to the party workers, Ismail alleged.

He demanded of the Sindh government and local government for protection for their workers, as they are busy launching the membership drive in other parts of the city also. He told the media that as many as 61,000 memberships have been given to the people in the city and the drive will continue for further three days.

On behalf of the PTI, he endorsed the Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s ‘Sindh Bachao’ rally (Save Sindh rally) which will start from Thatta and reach the city on Sunday. He also said that a reception would be given to the participants of the rally at Ghagkar Phattak by the party as they staged a rally for a noble cause.

On a question of the National Finance Commission (NFC), he demanded more share for Sindh as it is the only province which contributes more share into the divisible pool and the people of Karachi generate more revenue as against any city of the country.

Expressing concern over the Balochistan situation, he asked the people of Sindh to contribute from their share to the most deprived province. With regard to the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), he said that all those even in the government were the beneficiary of the ordinance must be sacked adding that arrest warrants should be executed to those who fled the country through Interpol.

He also disclosed that the PTI will launch a countrywide movement against the corrupt politicians who had made the country economically weak and created a sense of insecurity amongst the people. He said that if surety be given, the overseas Pakistanis would invest in the country that would overcome the critical situation in terms of finances and economic situation.

He said that arrest warrants should be executed through the Interpol against those who fled the country and added that Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz be summoned to the country to face trial under Article 6.

He also demanded that Asif Ali Zardari should present himself for accountability first and only those people are allowed to rule the country whose hands are clean.
