Sindh donates 50 trucks of relief goods for SWA IDPs

PESHAWAR: The Sindh government handed over on Friday 50 trucks containing food items to the government of the NWFP in Islamabad for onward distribution among the IDPs of South Waziristan (SW).

NWFP Minister for Prisons Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel received the trucks carrying 10,000 food packets worth Rs 5 million on behalf of the NWFP government from Sindh Revenue Minister Jam Mehtab on behalf of the Sindh chief minister.

Deputy Relief Commissioner NWFP, Abdul Kamal, representatives of PDMA NWFP and officers from the Sindh government were also present. In this regard, a formal ceremony in Utility Store main office Islamabad was held in which NWFP Minister for Prisons Mian Nisar Gul and Sindh Revenue Minister Jam Mehtab Dhar addressed the gathering.

Mian Nisar Gul thanked the Sindh government on behalf of the NWFP government. He pointed out that the caravan of 50 trucks was a gesture of great love and sympathy for the people of the NWFP and a message that Sindh people were with them in this hour of great need and distress.
