Rawalpindi

The winning students of essay writing and speech contest, held at primary and middle school level in Rawalpindi district, will be awarded at a ceremony to be held here on Friday.

Executive Director Education, Rawalpindi Malik Muhammad Ashraf, said the concerned Deputy Education Officer (EDO) has been made coordinator.

The students obtaining first, second and third positions will be given Rs1,000, Rs700 and Rs500 on the behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif.

In the first phase, the essay writing and speech contest were held in various primary and middle schools of Rawalpindi district.

In the boys competition, held under the directive of Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, a student of Government Boys Primary School Asghar Mall Rawalpindi, Muqdas Bashir, got the first position. Usman Ali of Government Elementary School Carriage Factory was declared second while Government Elementary School Khayban-e-Sir Syed Sector-III’s Hamza Nasim remained third.

In the middle level essay writing competition, Amir Masih of Government Elementary School Agriculture Farm, got first position, Shafqat Mehmood of Government Elementary School Khayban-e-Sir Syed Sector-III and Muhammad Mursaleen of Government New Islamia Elementary School Carriage jointly secured second position and Muhammad Nasir Hashmi of Government Boys Elementary School Gulzar Quaid got third position.

In the girls competition, Dua Iftikhar of Government Girls High School New Mohallah got first, Rabita Ibrahim of Government Girls Elementary School Khyaban-e-Sir Syed Sector-III got second while Nayab Arif of Government Girl High School No.4 Mohanpura got third position.

In middle level competition of essay writing, Amna Aziz of Government Liaquat Girls High School, Maryam Majeed of Government Girls Elementary School Dar ul Islam and Munazza Bibi of Government Girls High School Khadija got first, second and third position respectively.

In English essay writing competition, Amna Jaffar, Sofia and Sana Tariq of Government Girls High School Bangash Colony, Government Girls High School, Bagh Sardaran and Government Girls High School F-Block secured first, second and third position.

The competitions were held under the supervision of Executive District Officer (EDO) Education, Malik Muhammad Ashraf. He said these competitions at elementary level will start from November 21.
