| Art scene heats up |

| LAHORE THE art scene in the City is heating up as three exhibitions of paintings and artistic calligraphy are scheduled to be inaugurated on Thursday and Friday. An exhibition of artistic works by MA Bukhari will open at the Collectors Galleria, Alhamra Cultural Complex, Ferozepur Road at 5 pm on Thursday. Bukhari has brought his latest works to this event. He is a colour conscious artist and knows the significance of the use of colours for various moods and states of human life. Collector’s Galleria is one of the most recent additions to the constellation of art galleries in the City. The Drawing Room Art Gallery, owned by the young daughter of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer who is an artists herself, will host a show of latest works by Imran Mudassar. Imran, who has won a significant place here and abroad. The show will start at 5pm on Thursday and continue until November 29. It is a must-see event as those familiar with Mudassar’s work know how he has perfected the art of painting realities of life on canvas through his unique imagination and in a surrealistic manner. Another event will take place on November 20 at the Vogue Art Gallery, MM Alam Road at 5pm. A ceramic show titled “Clay Reborn” will showcase works of Masood Kohari and Sheherezade Alam, pioneers of ceramics in Pakistan, and works of young ceramists of Lahore. |
