| Karachi Most of the sugar mills in Sindh have started crushing from November 15, which would hopefully control the shortage of sugar, Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah said. Speaking at a press conference at the CM House, Shah said that with the start of the crushing season coupled with import of sugar would ensure sale of sugar at Rs40 per kilogramme. To a question about World Bank’s (WB) study that poverty was increasing in Sindh’s rural areas, Shah said that the WB had “limited resources” to assess the situation. He claimed that poverty was decreasing in Sindh. To another question about Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz’s (JSQM) rally in Karachi, Shah said that these nationalists had their “own views” about the things and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had different views. |
